Ship repairs:

Among the various repair operations SMS carry out, ship repairs contribute the largest proportion. SMS regularly provide services such as wet welding, aperture blanking, propeller repairs and replacement, bilge keel cropping and anode replacement. For crack damage, assessments can be made using NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) technologies such as MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspection) to determine the extent of the damage prior to repair. Inspection and repair procedures such as these can often provide a cost-effective alternative to dry docking the ship.

Structural repairs:

SMS undertake all types of underwater engineering work on most marine structures including dock gates, harbour walls, bridges, pontoons, sluices and mooring systems. We have the expertise, the specialist marine plant and skilled divers to undertake underwater engineering and repair projects of all types and complexity.
